Once weâd met the rest of the crew and mingled around for a while, the captain dismissed them to their duties. âSome of you stay, Juteng has some information we need,â I said as the others were about to follow their human counterparts.
âIâd like RJ, Thacos, Tuhin, Fern, Ike, Tala, and Bataar to stay,â Juteng said, glancing around the room.
âYou heard her,â I said.
The rest filed out while those staying cleaned their trays.
I watched as Juteng then flew above us and morphed into her larger self.
âShe truly is beautiful,â Tala said.
I couldnât agree more and felt honored to have her with us. I just wished Sin was here to see this too. Of all of my team, I knew Sin would know what Juteng was and her history.
âThere are many images you will have seen in and around the royal palaces across the galaxy,â Juteng said. âFrom the late emperorâs to even that of the Maraâs home world, the Tricaran have been depicted in murals by artists for millennia.â
âYou know of the Maraâs home planet?â Thacos asked. âWhat you speak of is displayed for all to see in their great hall.â
âI do,â she said. Then before here, a visual image of space shimmered and appeared. âThis is their home planet, the one they protect the most, the one where Amantra will be waiting for you.â
All eyes were on me then.
âI wasnât sure I believed what Ráir had said.â Tala lowered her head to me. âForgive me.â
âMy destiny to stop the evil tainting the universe is different from yours,â I said. âBut the path I am on with you still takes us both a similar way.â
The image of the planet changed, zooming in and focusing on a beautiful palace. Beautiful tall towers rose high into the skies, topped with multicolored glass windows. âThey really knew how to build back then,â I said and marveled at the design.
âThe palaces were built in a time of agreement between the four factions,â Juteng said as the images moved and changed with her. âA great time of peace with the world. When my species dominated the skies.â
We drew in closer and then were inside the palace. The great hall spread before us, thousands of people dressed in long flowing much thicker coats than Iâd know, it indicated a time thousands of years previous where the weather was harsher. Painters on shaky wooden scaffolding dotted around, working on highly detailed murals of a war, a war where Tricaran fought in the skies.
âIâve seen something like this, on Zola too,â Tala said. âGrand Master Saito once explained to me. Of times past, of blood and many deaths.â
âYes,â Juteng said. âThat time of peace did not last. An accident took the ruler of Puccado. A great war broke out then as they retaliated. One which decimated the universe. One similar is coming nowâthe cycles never change, only the people.â She sadly lowered her head. âOnly those of us old enough to remember hurt.â
âHow old are you?â I asked, then cringed.
